Inbred Inks Deal with Frito Lay!
Hey everyone,

I know it's been ages since I last posted here, mostly due to the fact that I have no idea what time slot they've moved rolling r-bitch to, but I found this interesting article.  It seems Inbred is joining forces with Frito Lay:

By Anthony Crupi

In an effort to scoop up more sales from women 25-54, Frito-Lay’s Tostitos is prepping a year-long multiplatform campaign with Food Network’s Simply Delicioso. The alliance also is designed to leverage the breezy charms of Ingrid Hoffman, the show’s host, who is being groomed to follow in the star-studded “foodsteps” of Emeril Lagasse, Rachael Ray and Sandra Lee.

Beginning this month, six 30-second on-air vignettes will show Hoffman whipping up a different, party-tested recipe with an assist from Tostitos products. A retail component will tease Food Network and Simply Delicioso on 150 million Tostitos-brand packages.

Tostitos has worked with Food Network before but this marks the brand’s first widespread integration package on the network. Buyers put the Tostitos deal at $5 million.

“Starting a dialogue with the consumer and getting them engaged with our brand is really what it’s all about,” said Ann Mukherjee, group vp-marketing at Frito-Lay, Plano, Texas, a division of PepsiCo.

Mukherjee said the deal presented an opportunity to get in on the ground floor with Hoffman. The native of Colombia became Food Network’s first Latina on-air personality in July 2007 with Simply Delicioso, where the emphasis is on low-impact entertaining at home. She also hosts a Spanish-language cooking/lifestyle show on Galavision/Univision; her book, Simply Delicioso: A Collection of Everyday Recipes with a Latin Twist (Random House), hits stores this month.

“There’s been a market for Food Network talent for years,” said Jon Steinlauf, svp-ad sales at Scripps Networks, New York. “What’s new about this is how our ad sales team is inserting itself into the conversation, working with Ingrid’s representation and [Tostitos] to help broker an endorsement deal.”

So, they're banking on Inbred to boost sales...sales of what?  Salsa?  This sounds like a joke already!

Let me just state
a little something about this latest waste of air time on Food Network.

Her show isn't about Latin cooking
It isn't about Mexican cooking
It also isn't about equality for Hispanics.

It's about her boobs and her nasty kitchen.

I watched ONE of her shows and I don't even remember what it was. If I heard one more "babeee", "Babeees", and "you guys" or saw one more boob shot I was going to puke. the real turn off was when she snapped her fingers. No one snaps their fingers at me.

Food Network needs to find someone who will teach us Latin/Mexican cooking with some class and who does not offend the general public. Ingrid Hoffman (odd how a latino girl gets a germanic/scandinavian name) isn't the one.

If she can do it, I probably won't.
